My work focuses on the role of decidual natural killer cells in spiral artery remodelling and their interactions with trophoblast. I am also interested in using in vitro models to study spiral artery remodelling. I came to SGUL after completing my PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2010 which investigated the role of prostaglandins and inflammation in endometrial cancer.

Dr Karin Leslie

I am completing my MD (Res) in the lab studying oxidative stress in the placenta.

Miss Sandra Ashton

I am a research assistant supporting the work of the lab.

Miss Amanda Host

I am currently undertaking my PhD investigating the role of decidual natural killer cells in spiral artery remodelling. I am also interested in vascular smooth muscle cells and their differentiation.

Miss Brooke Lumicisi

I am a research assistant investigating trophoblast and decidual stromal cells.

Miss Laura James-Allan

I am currently undertaking my PhD in the lab investigating 3-D models of decidualisation.

Miss Rebecca Buckley

I am a PhD student researching the role of decidual macrophages in early pregnancy with particular focus on the interactions between macrophages and extravillous trophoblast cells.  I am also interested in the potential role played by decidual macrophages in the pathology of pre-eclampsia.
